Fishing Report

Some weed on the beach north of Double Island Point.
Towards Inskip Dart and Whiting, some Tailor at night particularly at Inskip Point.
In Tin Can Inlet starting are some Mangrove Jack in the creeks, Flathead and Whiting on the flats and some Tailor and Mackerel near the "Big Mick" beacon.

Fraser Island

A Beginners Guide to Driving on Sand

Most first time visitors to Rainbow Beach and Fraser Island have very little or no experience with driving on sand, this quick guide is a primer for the first time 4wd driver.

Check your Tide Times

Beach driving should only be attempted 2 hours either side of LOW TIDE
Engage 4wd

Ensure 4wd is engaged BEFORE you drive off the Fraser Island Barge. Many first time visitors become bogged in the soft sand when driving off the barge.
Momentum

It is essential to maintain Momentum while driving in sand if you lose momentum you will get bogged
When you get bogged

Reverse out immediately, you may then lower your tyre pressure and retry. Remember to re inflate your tyres after you are free
