4x4 Driving on the beach 2 hours either side of LOW tide
This information is a guide only. Beach conditions can change rapidly.
Bream and Flathead fishing has been good on the bay side of Inskip point
and large numbers of good quality crabs have also been caught.
The best bait has been prawn and squid.
Rainbow Beach has been ok but Teewah Beach has a lot of weed.

It is a good idea when 4x4 driving on Fraser Island and Rainbow Beach
to carry a basic recovery kit including a shovel, snatch strap or tow rope,
tyre presure guage and air pump.
Most of the accommodation here in Rainbow Beach is now fully booked for the holiday period but the camping at Inskip Point has not yet begun to fill
Rainbow Beach Tackle will be opening a new shopfront with a Grand Opening on the 20th of December providing both Fresh and Frozen Bait for your Fishing.

Always swim or surf at a beach patrolled by lifesavers.
Swim between the red and yellow flags. They mark the safest areas to swim.
Read and obey the signs.
If you are unsure of conditions, ask a lifesaver.
Don't swim directly after a meal.
Don't swim under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
If you get into trouble in the water, don't panic signal for help,
float and wait for assistance.
Float with a rip current or undertow. Do not swim against it.
"REMEMBER: Slow Down when approaching people on
the beach they may not hear your approach
above the noise of the surf and children
can be unpredictable."
