It is a good idea when 4x4 driving on Fraser Island and Rainbow Beach
to carry a basic recovery kit including a shovel, snatch strap or tow rope,
tyre presure guage and air pump.
I must apologise for this issue being a little late having spent 2 days in the local hospital after getting struck by lightning.
Information on the closure of Fraser Island to the general public can be found on
'Friend's of Fraser' web page
Read the interesting facts regarding the Government's (Parks and Wildlife)
sure closure of Fraser Island.
They have already closed down approximately 60% of Fraser Island to the public
and there will be many more parts closing in the near future.
Is it true that Parks and Wildlife want all private vehicles stopped from
visiting the Island? Tour buses will be the only way to go.
STOP this closure by joining Friends of Fraser organisation or making a donation to them.
National Parks do not own Fraser Island. They are only the trustees for the
Aboriginal tribes who do hold possessory and native title of the majority of Fraser Island.
Support the Aboriginal's claim to Dilli Village on Fraser Island by helping
set up their Cultural and Training Village, The Dungalbara Cultural Centre.
This is the most likely way of saving Fraser Island from being closed to the
general public.
Please keep an open mind until you have viewed all the facts.
Please send donations to help the legal fight which are tax deductible
